英国皇家风景园林学会（LI）将于2022年3月举办缓解气候与生物多样性危机线上论坛

Landscape Institute international conference will debate imperative actions to mitigate the climate and biodiversity emergencies. The conference will be running online on the 22-24 March 2022

Background

面对当前自然界前所未有的灾难，我们既是深受气候变化影响的第一代人，也是对此能有所作为的最后一代人。风景园林专业在应对气候与生物多样性危机中起着关键作用，而现在我们应当开始行动。此次会议将围绕气候与生物多样性危机讨论一些重要的议题。其内容包括缓解气候危机的必要行动、实践案例、核心技术和指导思想。与会者将有机会听到一系列关于该主题的演讲，并与国际风景园林行业的同仁进行交流，为缓解气候与生物多样性危机做出贡献。

As we face the greatest catastrophe to befall the natural world, we are the first generation to feel the effect of climate change and the last generation who can do something about it. The Landscape profession is pivotal in the fight against the changing climate and diminishing biodiversity, it is now our moment to enact change! The Mitigating the Climate and Biodiversity Emergencies conference will be debating some of the big themes and demonstrate imperative actions, exemplar practice, core skills and thought leadership around mitigating the climate emergency. Delegates will have the opportunity to hear from a range or speakers on the topic, as well as contribute to the debate by connecting and networking with people from across the landscape profession.

On day one Frank Anatole, Principal Architect, Network Rail together with Matt Winfield, England Director at Sustrans will be debating what are the contradictions for landscape designers when designing for Net Zero?

The day one will also include an interactive panel discussion“4 months post COP26 – UK Built Environment Declares”, where delegates will be able to ask questions and discuss how can the sector collaborate to mitigate the Climate and Biodiversity emergency with Andrew Grant, Founder & Director, Grant Associates and other panelists.

Day two will feature a key industry players and international speakers including Professor Mary Creagh, Cranfield School of Management and Jing Fan, Deputy Chief Engineer, Senior Engineer at the Guangzhou Urban Planning & Design Survey Research Institute, and many more. The topics of the day will cover designing for active transport and provide international perspective on designing sustainable futures, showcasing how China is trying to reduce carbon emissions through their work.

Lord John Deben, Chairman of the Climate Committee, The CCC will open the day three of the event with a speech about work being carried out by the Mitigating Climate Change committee and what this means to the landscape sector, followed by the practical case studies from the Presidio Trust on the role of parks in mitigating and adapting to climate change.
