《风景园林》杂志拟于2023年出版“公共空间更新设计”专题，现面向广大海内外学者征集相关稿件。本专题由中央美术学院侯晓蕾教授作为特约编辑负责组稿。

Landscape Architecture Journal plans to publish the issue with "Renewal Design of Public Space" as the topic in the second quarter of 2023, and now intend to collect relevant research papers from scholars all over the world. This issue is prepared by the contributing editor, professor HOU Xiaolei from China Central Academy of Fine Arts.

在我国当前新常态经济发展背景下，城市和乡村建设开始由增量扩张进入存量优化的新阶段。城市和乡村中现状多种类型的被废弃的、闲置的、利用率不高的公共空间成为更新改造的首要目标。这些公共空间的土地资源是非常稀缺的生产资料，充分利用每一寸土地成为城乡优化并扩大生活空间的一个突破方向。同时，城市和乡村都是有机的生命体，并且处于不断发展中，而多数土地用途在一定时期内是受到限制的，但随着使用方式的转变，使用状态也会发生改变。低效利用的土地或空间需要被激活，创造新的使用价值。在健康的、可持续发展的城市和乡村肌体内，剩余空间的持续挖潜提升是城市和乡村公共空间更新演化过程中必不可少的，并且具有空间利用方面的前瞻性。因此，如何通过风景园林和多学科多专业的综合作用介入，促使这些具有潜力的公共空间通过合理而可持续的更新设计积极化，对于当前的城乡更新而言至关重要，也是人民城市意义下的设计为人们服务的体现。

本期专题将围绕“公共空间更新设计”，在多学科多专业视角下，共同探讨城市和乡村公共空间更新设计的多元思考和多解途径，力求从理论和实践的角度解读公共空间更新设计，为未来城市和乡村的公共空间更新提供具有参考的借鉴。

1 城市社区与街区公共空间更新

社区与街区是城市的基础单元，是与市民生活链接最紧密的区域。一方面，社区及街区公共空间的更新更关注居民最本真的生活方式，塑造场所精神，提升空间的公平性，体现空间的人文关怀。另一方面，以针灸的方式对社区及街区小微公共空间的提升改造，形成街区乃至城市整体的公共空间脉络，从而织补社区生活圈，塑造社区的健康生活。

2 城市剩余空间的挖潜提升

城市剩余空间指城市建设后被留下或多余的空间，是城市中没有得到充分利用，或者不能发挥作用的消极性的失落空间。城市剩余空间包括高架桥桥下空间、轨道基础设施沿线空间、城乡边界空间及街头三角地等。这些空间具备了再利用的灵活性和价值度，为城市更新发展提供了新的契机。

3 乡村公共空间的更新设计

乡村公共空间承载着村民的生产生活、交往活动、娱乐休闲等乡村日常功能，塑造着乡村民众的物质生活和精神世界，影响着乡村社会道德价值和秩序体系，同时也反映着独有的地方特色和文化意识。乡村公共空间更新设计和乡村治理体系，对于当前的乡村振兴战略而言具有重要的意义。

4 社会治理与社区营造

城市公共空间微更新在精细化治理的背景下逐步聚焦在空间重构、公众参与和社区激活方面，空间关怀落实到社区需求、社会关系等社会治理层面。针对城市公共空间更新过程中的综合问题，以人民需求和现实问题为导向，以公共空间设计为切入点，以社区营造为手段，建立社会治理体系。

5 公共空间更新设计的理论与方法

通过研究公共空间的基本功能、空间类型和形态规律等方面，对公共空间更新的设计研究进行系统探索，结合相关案例和实践，从多学科角度提出城市公共空间更新设计的创新研究理论与研究方法。

侯晓蕾，中央美术学院建筑学院研究生部主任、教授。担任北京城市规划学会城市共创中心副主任、北京市历史文化名城保护学术委员会专家委员、北京市街区治理与责任规划师工作专业委员会专家委员、中国建筑学会园林景观分会理事、中国城市科学研究会景观学与美丽中国建设专业委员会委员、教育部学位中心专家库专家、北京市责任规划师、《风景园林》特约编辑、《中国园林》审稿人、全国艺术科学基金评审专家等。主要研究方向为城市公共空间设计与社区营造、街区更新和社区更新、风景园林规划与设计、乡土景观。主持或参与包括国家社科艺术学基金等国家级和省部级科研课题多项，主持景观项目获得国际IFLA亚太区景观分析与规划专业组竞赛杰出奖和卓越奖，参与景观项目获得国际ASLA景观荣誉奖。

In the context of China's current new normal economic development, urban and rural construction has also begun to enter a new stage of stock optimization from incremental expansion. In urban and rural areas, various types of abandoned, idle, low utilization of public space have become the primary goal of renovation. The land resources of these public space spaces are very scarce means of production. Making full use of every inch of land has become a breakthrough direction for urban and rural optimization and expansion of living space. At the same time, both cities and villages are organic life bodies and are in constant development. However, most land uses are limited for a certain period of time. However, with the change of the use mode, the use status will also change. Inefficient land or space needs to be activated to create new use value. In a healthy and sustainable urban and rural body, the sustainable development of the remaining space is essential for the renewal and evolution of urban and rural public space. Therefore, how to promote these potential public spaces to be active through rational and sustainable renewal design through the integrated role of landscape architecture and multi-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary intervention is crucial for the current urban and rural renewal, which is also the embodiment of the design serving people in the sense of the people's city.

Focusing on "public space renewal design", this issue will discuss the multiple ways of thinking and understanding of urban and rural public space renewal design from a multidisciplinary and multi professional perspective, and strive to interpret the public space renewal design from the perspective of theory and practice, so as to provide a reference for future urban public space renewal.

1 Renewal of Public Space in Urban Communities and Blocks

Community and block are the basic units of a city, they are the area’s most closely linked to the life of citizens. On the one hand, the renewal of community and street public space pays more attention to the residents' true lifestyle, shapes the spirit of place, improves the fairness of space, and reflects the humanistic care of space. On the other hand, from the perspective of the block, choose the location of community public space renewal by acupuncture, form the overall public space context of the block and even the city, so as to repair the community life circle and shape the healthy life of the community.

2 Tapping the Potential of Urban Residual Space

Urban residual space refers to the space left or surplus after urban construction, which is a negative lost space that has not been fully utilized or cannot play a role in the city. The residual urban spaces include the space under the viaduct, the space along the rail infrastructure, the urban and rural boundary space and the street triangle. These spaces have the flexibility and value of reuse, providing new opportunities for urban renewal and development.

3 Renewal Design of Rural Public Space

The rural public space carries the villagers' daily functions of production and life, communication activities, entertainment and leisure, shapes the material life and spiritual world of the rural people, affects the moral value and order system of the rural society, and also reflects the unique local characteristics and cultural awareness. The renewal design of rural public space and rural governance system are of great significance for the current rural revitalization strategy.

4 Social Governance and Community Building

Under the background of refined governance, the micro-renewal of urban public space has gradually shifted to focus more on spatial reconstruction, public participation and community activation, and the spatial care is materialized in community governance, human needs and social relations. In view of the comprehensive problems in the process of urban public space renewal, a social governance system should be established with people's needs and practical problems as the guide, public space design as the starting point, and community building as the means. 

5 Theory and Method of Public Space Renewal Design

By studying the basic functions, space types and form laws of public space, this paper systematically explores the design and research of public space renewal, and puts forward innovative research theories and research methods of urban public space renewal design from a multidisciplinary perspective in combination with relevant cases and practices.

HOU Xiaolei is currently teaching in the School of Architecture, Central Academy of fine arts, graduate tutor, and 17 Studio’s tutor of Architecture College.

She has served as an expert member of the Academic Committee for the protection of famous historical and cultural cities in Beijing, an expert member of the professional committee of Beijing district governance and responsibility planners, a director of the landscape architecture branch of the Chinese Architectural Society, a member of the professional committee of landscape science and beautiful China Construction, an expert of the academic degree center of the Ministry of education, a responsible planner of Beijing, and contributing editor of this journal, reviewer of Chinese Landscape Architecture, member of the working committee of China Wildlife Protection Association, and expert database of national art and science planning project.

The main research directions are urban public space design and community building, block renewal and community renewal, landscape planning and design, vernacular landscape.

She has presided over or participated in a number of national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, and has published more than 30 scientific papers. She presided over the landscape project and won the award of the international IFLA Asia Pacific landscape analysis and planning professional group competition. She participated in landscape practice and won ASLA honorary award for landscape design.
