台湾高禾医院选址于台湾南部一个充满活力和多样性的港口城市——高雄，这里拥有许多引人入胜的地标建筑和自然景观。高禾医院作为高级私人医院，主要从事癌症治疗和预防医学综合治疗。医院创始人许庭元博士（Ting-Yuan Hsu）长期致力于中西医结合方向的研究，也正是他的委托，s+s在2017年承接了高禾医院的规划工作，经过2年多的不断打磨和深化，高禾医院终于在2019年动工，并于2022年年底正式竣工投入使用。

Taiwan Kao-Ho Hospital is located in Kaohsiung, a vibrant and diverse port city in southern Taiwan with many fascinating landmarks and natural landscapes. As a high-class private hospital, Kao-Ho Hospital specializes in comprehensive cancer treatment and preventive medicine. The founder of the hospital, Dr. Ting-Yuan Hsu, has long been committed to research in the direction of integrating Chinese and Western medicine, and it was his commission that led to s+s to jointly undertake the planning of Kao-Ho Hospital in 2017. After more than 2 years of continuous polishing and deepening, Kao-Ho Hospital will finally officially start construction in 2019, and be formally completed by the end of 2022 and put into use.

高禾医院总占地面积约12,000平方米，医院的北侧和西侧紧邻主干道，为了保持内部环境，尽可能隔绝外部环境的有害因素，因此高禾医院的设计在保证内部视觉及感官舒适度的前提下，采用了封闭式的建筑设计。

With a total site area of approximately 12,000 square meters and the hospital's north and west sides adjacent to the main road, Kao-Ho Hospital was designed to maintain an internal environment that is as insulated as possible from the harmful elements of the external environment, thus ensuring the visual and sensory comfort of the interior. A closed building design was adopted.

整个医院楼高共八层，分别由临床区和办公区两部分组成，从底层一直延伸到八层，一层大厅形成入口区、接待处、咖啡厅、药房和治疗室，二层和三层是预防医学中心，四层和五层是住院部，六层和七层是用于研究和样本检测的实验室，顶层则是图书馆和屋顶花园。同时在建筑的西侧，我们打造出一个贯穿八层的露天天井，并在首层设计了一个花园庭院，结合大面积落地玻璃幕墙和电梯，让使用者在每层楼都能欣赏到绿色棕榈树的美景。

The entire hospital building is eight floors high and consists of two parts, the clinical area and the office area, which extends from the ground floor all the way up to the eighth floor. The ground floor comprises an entrance area and reception, a café, a pharmacy, and treatment rooms. The second and third floors house the Centre for Preventive Medicine, while in-patient admissions are located on the fourth and fifth floors. The sixth and seventh floors house laboratories for research and sample testing, and the top floor has a library and a roof garden. Meanwhile, on the west side of the building, we created an open-air patio that runs through all eight floors and a garden courtyard on the first floor, which, combined with the large floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall and the elevator, allows the user to enjoy the view of the green palms from every floor.

建筑从外部看整体呈弧形结构，外立面由亚光仿真U型强化玻璃和双层铝合金中空外墙组成，阻挡了紫外线对建筑的照射并隔绝了外部噪音。白天的医院仿佛笼罩着一层朦胧的白纱。而夜晚十分，室内灯光透过玻璃幕墙散出柔和的光线，使整座建筑熠熠生辉，如同黑暗中的灯笼一般，一个白色的“发光盒子”在城市景观的纹理中显得格外醒目。

The building has a curved structure from the outside, and the façade is made of matte simulation U-shaped reinforced glass and double-layer aluminum alloy hollow wall, which blocks ultraviolet rays to the building and insulates it from external noise. During the day, the hospital seems to be covered with a hazy white veil. At night, the indoor lighting through the glass curtain wall emits a soft light, making the whole building glitter like a lantern in the darkness, a white "luminous box" in the texture of the cityscape appears particularly eye-catching.

除外观和内部环境设计外，安全因素也是我们重点考虑的范围。台湾位于亚洲地震带上，经常面临地震灾害的威胁，所以在设计高禾医院时，我们采用全钢结构的建筑设计，它可以抵挡8级的强烈地震，并且在不破坏结构的同时确保人们在楼内的安全。同时由于医院的特殊性，对室内空气质量要求也是极高的，所以高禾医院采用VRV冷剂式空调系统，确保每个空间独立循环、自然通风，避免病菌通过空气传播的机会。

In addition to the exterior and interior design, safety was also a key consideration. Taiwan is located in the Asian seismic zone and is constantly facing the threat of seismic disasters, so when designing Kao-Ho Hospital, we adopted an all-steel building design that can withstand a strong earthquake of magnitude 8 and ensure the safety of people inside the building without destroying the structure. Meanwhile, due to the special characteristics of hospitals, the indoor air quality requirements are also extremely high, so Kao-Ho Hospital adopts the VRV refrigerant air-conditioning system to ensure that each space is independently circulated and naturally ventilated, avoiding the chance of germs spreading through the air.
