MVRDV与浙江大学建筑设计研究院联合入围苏州大剧院规划及建筑概念方案国际征集。来自全球61家设计单位组成的34组参赛团队中，共有5个团队入围并进入竞赛的下一阶段。

MVRDV, together with UAD, is shortlisted in the International Competition of Masterplan and Architectureal Concept Design of Suzhou Grand Theatre. 5 from 34 registered teams, composed of 61 international design firms, were shortlisted and entered the next phase of the competition.

苏州大剧院位于苏州市相城区，靠近苏州北站北，占地面积约54亩，总建筑面积约为6.9万平方米，项目总投资约16.2亿元。未来的苏州大剧院，将能够举办国际、国内各类顶级文艺演出，集前瞻性、国际性、文艺性、科技性于一体，设施完善、功能齐全的江南文化新地标，以满足人民群众日益增长的精神和艺术文化需求。

Suzhou Grand Theatre is located in the Xiangcheng District, next to the Suzhou North High-speed Railway Station. The theatre takes the land area of 36,000 sqm building area of 690,000 sqm, the overall investment is 1.62 billion yuan. The Suzhou Grand Theatre will be an iconic cultural destination which is also future-proofing, international and artistic to further serve people's increasing need of spiritual and cultural cultivation.
