MVRV与The Why Factory智慧研究所共同参与2017深港城市\建筑双城双年展（深圳）并筹划了一系列的展览装置，由策展人和评论家侯瀚如及URBANUS都市实践创始人刘晓都、孟岩联合策展。本届双年展以深圳南头古城为主展场，主题为“城市共生”，展览将持续至2018年3月15日。其中MVRDV的主展品 “(W)ego住宅”，为一个9米高的大型室外装置，这也是Wego首次亮相深圳。

MVRDVand The Why Factory stage a series of interventions for the seventh Bi-CityBiennale of Urbanism\Architecture (Shenzhen) (UABB) jointly curated by curatorand critic, Hou Hanrou and founding partners of URBANUS, LiuXiaodu and Meng Ya. The Biennale’s theme Cities, Grow in Difference takes place across multiple sites inNantou Old Town, Shenzhen and runs until 15th March 2018. The central piece ofthese interventions is a 9meter installation, (W)ego House which has now beenexpanded for its Shenzhen debut.

2017深港城市\建筑双城双年展（UABB）是全球唯一一个以“城市\建筑”为固定主题，以关注城市和城市化为使命的双年展。2005年于深圳创办，自2007年起开始与香港联合办展，过去十多年来UABB一直不懈地致力于城市和城市化问题的探索，并专注中国及世界范围内空前的高速城市化进程下的宏观研究。

MVRDV将参与双年展的“都市|村庄”板块。作为城中村研究及与此问题相关展览内容的主板块，将设置“城中村档案馆”，“城中村演武场”和“城中村实验场”三个子板，试图从城中村的知识库、改造工具手段和实践的实验场三个方面向城中村空间学习并尝试提供一个城中村全新的发展模式及可能的未来。

The Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture(UABB) is the only biennale in the world based solely on the theme of Urbanismand Urbanization. Initiated in Shenzhen in 2005 and partnered with Hong Kong in2007, for over a decade the UABB has explored issues of urban and urbanisationwith a focus on the macroscopic background of unprecedented rapid urbanization in China and in global cities.  

These interventions are partof Urban Village, a major section dedicated to the analysis and relative exhibition of urban villages. It has built three sub-sections, which are Urban Village Archive, Urban Village Armory and Urban Village Lab, seeking to provide future developmental models for urban villages with knowledge, paradigms and platform for experimental transformation projects.

MVRDV与智慧研究所the Why Factory联合展出一系列探索未来都市的研究成果：《未来城市是广阔的：将改变我们城市的产品》，《(W)ego住宅》、《垂直村落》。在系列装置旁则是MVRDV的研究项目《下一个胡同》书籍展品，它反思胡同过去几十年来的变化及探索未来可能的新发展模式。

MVRDV and researchthink-tank, The Why Factory jointly present interventions exploring future cities: The Future City is Wide: Products that will Change our Cities, (W)ego House and The Vertical Village. Along side these installations is a presentation of The Next Hutonga research project by MVRDV that reflects on the hutong’s developments over the last decades, and proposals for a better model itsfuture.

The Why Factory和MVRDV的作品强调了现存的及未来的城中村之美,” MVRDV联合创始人Winy Maas说，“当个人主义与密度和集体主义相互协作时，自我的ego也就变为众我的wego。”

“The Why Factory and MVRDV show works that demonstrate the beauty of the existing and future urban village”, says Winy Maas, MVRDV co-founder. “Individualism is paired with density and collectivism, where ego becomes wego.”

《未来城市是广阔的：将改变我们城市的产品》是过去十多年来The Why Factory的学生们对于未来城市产品的研究成果。这些产品将如何改变我们的世界？如果能住在一个十分美好、无限、快速、绿色、有趣、生物多样化、紧凑、多孔、灵活、同时融合自我和集体的世界会是怎样？会出现什么样的城市形态？在此视频装置中出现的产品将带来多样化的答案和无数的可能。

TheFuture City is Wide: Products that will Change our Cities isthe result of over ten years of research by students of The Why Factory intofuture city products. How will these products change the world? What will it belike to live in an absolutely wonderful, infinite, fast, green, fun,biodiverse, compact, porous, (w)egoistic, and flexible world? What urban formsmight appear? The products shown here in this filminstallation offer a wide range of answers to those questions with endlesspossibilities.

(W) ego住宅是一个由7个房间组成的室外装置，在有限的空间内探索如何将充满理想色彩的个人主义最大化。当每个独立个体的理想互相碰撞时，住户们则必须学会互相协商以将有限的城市空间最大化的利用。

 (W)ego House is an installation ofseveral rooms made to fulfil idealistic but egoistic perspectives in a limitedspace. When confronted with the dreams of others, users must learn to negotiatewith each other to optimise use of limited urban space.

垂直村落：一种独立的、非正式的、密集化的亚洲城市发展新模式愿景。MVRDV与The Why Factory提出“垂直村落” 理念，一个三维的社区，期望重新唤起亚洲城市的个体自主权、多样性、灵活性及邻里生活气息。

TheVertical Village: Individual, Informal, Intense envisionsa new model for the development of Asian cities. MVRDV and The Why factoryproposes The Vertical Village, a three-dimensional community intended to bringback personal autonomy, diversity, flexibility and neighbourhood life to citiesin Asia.

《下一个胡同》是对北京天安门广场旁的鲜鱼口胡同的未来发展研究。曾经的居民已经迁至别处，而目前留下的胡同多数处于空置状态。该如何应对此特殊境况？由于胡同的历史价值和其处于北京中心的关键位置，这将是一个十分值得关注的项目。任何一个决定都将带着十分重大的责任，胡同的未来何去何从？而现在正是一个重要的时机去反思过去几十年来胡同的发展和变化，以及探索未来胡同的新发展模式：下一个胡同。

The Next Hutong is based on the result of research on The Xianyukou Hutong, located next to Beijing’sTiananmen Square. As it awaits redevelopment, inhabitants have moved to otherlocations and it has been left almost entirely vacant. What to do with thisunusual situation? Because of the hutong’s prominence in central Beijing, it isa highly visible project, and the moment when a decision is made requires ahuge amount of responsibility. What should it become? This is a moment toreflect on the hutong developments over the last decades and to create a bettermodel for the future, the next hutong

来自25个不同国家和地区包括中国、美国、法国、德国、英国、西班牙、荷兰、克罗地亚、土耳其、以色列、澳大利亚、巴西、波多黎各、墨西哥、篱笆内、韩国、日本、越南、香港、澳门、台湾等230位艺术家参与了本届双年展。其中包括国际建筑师及建筑事务所、知名建筑及城市规划学者、国际和本土艺术家群体、艺术机构及组织、大学和学院机构等等。

Over 230 participants from more than 25 countries and regions, including China, the United States, France, Germany,Britain, Spain, Holland, Croatia, Turkey, Israel, Australia, Brazil, PuertoRico, Mexico, Lebanon, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, andTaiwan will take part in the Biennale. Included in this list are internationalarchitects and architectural firms, renowned scholars in architecture and urbanplanning, international and local artists, art organizations and agencies,colleges, universities and institutions.
