在厦门两岸金融中心核心腹地，Aeda全球设计董事温子先博士（Dr. Andy Wen）、执行董事林子欢带领团队携手中元（厦门）工程设计研究院，一同打造了金砖国家新工业革命伙伴创新基地总部区项目。设计在极限场地内实现了开放互动空间与立体复合功能的完美融合，交垒叠砌间再现闽南砖石古厝的韵律之美，为高密度城市开发下的复合功能与空间效率平衡给出了全新答案。

Located in the heart of the financial centre in Xiamen, GENERTEC BRICS Innovation Headquarters stands a new symbol of innovation and collaboration. The project seamlessly integrates open interactive spaces with mixed-use functions within a highly constrained site. The design evokes rhythmic beauty of traditional brick residences, offering a new solution for balancing functionality and spatial efficiency in high-density urban development. More than just a headquarters, this development serves as a vibrant hub for interaction, encouraging global partnerships and setting a new benchmark for sustainable urban spaces.

项目基地东侧濒临大海，拥有得天独厚的景观资源；北侧则紧邻城市主干道和中央绿轴，地块内部直接连通地铁站点，拥有便捷的交通条件和独特的区位优势。地块被规划道路一分为二，其中东地块需在不足7,000平方米的占地面积中，规划集办公、酒店于一体的超高层综合体和约20,000平米的会展中心，容纳四个大跨度的宴会及会议厅；而西地块则包括研发楼、商业设施及公寓。

The headquarters enjoys exceptional natural and urban advantages, offering stunning landscape resources and connecting directly to a major transportation network and central green axis. The existing roads divide the headquarters into two sessions with a high-rise complex planned within a 7,000 sq m plot on the east. The complex integrates office, hotel and a 20,000 sq m convention center. The western plot consists of R&D facilities, commercial spaces and apartments.

为打造一个自然与活力交汇的城市核心区域，团队在局促的场地中充分利用立体组织方式。在东地块，将办公及酒店业态垂直设置，形成高度为230.05米的超高层综合体置于地块南侧，其中塔楼高区特别设有7.5米高的360度“天际会客厅”，以灯塔意象打造独特塔冠空间，为高端政商活动提供理想展示平台。主塔高区为酒店功能，打造全海景客房，面向城市景观的西侧设置通高的酒店空中中庭，中庭采用轻盈的拉索幕墙系统，提升城市观景视野与内部采光条件。三大会议厅、宴会厅以及展厅垂直堆叠置于地块北侧，面对中央绿轴，将主入口首层架空，以挑高12米的空间退让形成了面向城市的会议广场以及形象台阶。在用地面积有限的情况下，构建出高效、开放、多层级的会展空间，打造出与海景相融的公共建筑项目。

To create a vibrant complex that seamlessly blends nature and energy, the design maximises the spatial planning within the constrained site. On the eastern plot, the office and hotel are vertically arranged to form a 230.05m super high-rise complex. The hotel rooms are designed on the upper levels, featuring panoramic sea views. The upper levels feature a 7.5m high, 360-degree sky lounge. The crown serves as ideal platforms for high-level business activities. A soaring sky atrium is positioned on the west, enclosed by a lightweight cable-supported curtain wall system. The convention centre and multi-function hall are stacked vertically on the north. The ground floor is elevated 12m, creating a welcoming urban plaza and grand entrance steps.

西地块将中试与研发办公功能的165.85米副塔楼置于地块北侧，与主塔楼形成错落布局。塔楼顶部设有挑高室内中庭，形成开放的交流空间，提升未来跨层租售与灵活改造的可能性。南侧布局两栋灵活多样的公寓，商业配套丰富，为居住者提供集生活、休闲与社交于一体的高品质社区。

The western plot focuses on R&D office, with a 165.85m secondary tower positioned on the northern side, creating a staggered layout alongside the main tower. At the top of the tower, a sky atrium with high ceilings serves an open space for collaboration, enhancing flexibility for cross-level leasing and adaptive modifications. On the south, two versatile apartment buildings are strategically placed, complemented by a variety of commercial amenities. This well-integrated layout creates a high-quality community where residents can seamlessly experience living, leisure, and social engagement.

在有序的布局下，设计通过三大公共空间实现东西地块的彼此连接，并与周边的城市绿地与民俗园无缝串联，大幅提升区域的互动性与开放性。会议中心入口广场以大尺度开放空间营造庄重氛围，成为城市活动的地标性场所；西地块的下沉广场与地下商业街和地铁站点无缝连接，不仅高效引导人流，更全面激活场地的商业氛围；中心区域则通过建筑围合与退台打造出富有生活气息的商业广场，打造市民聚会、休闲的理想场所。

With a well-structured layout, the design establishes strong connectivity within plots through public spaces, linking them harmoniously with surrounding urban green spaces and cultural parks. This greatly enhances the area’s openness and interaction. The entrance plaza of the convention centre features a grand, open space that serves as a landmark venue for city events. A sunken plaza on the western plot is designed to integrate with the underground retail street and metro station, efficiently guiding pedestrian circulation while activating the commercial vibrancy. At the heart of the development, a commercial plaza framed by surrounding architecture creates a lively atmosphere, providing an ideal gathering space for residents to socialise, relax, and engage in urban life.

设计灵感源于闽南建筑独特的砌墙技艺“出砖入石”，通过精准切割的体块错动叠合，以挺拔利落的建筑轮廓模拟筑墙时的垒砌，呼应传统砌筑逻辑，同时丰富的立面形式重构了砖石墙体的层次肌理，以数字化建造实现传统工艺的当代演绎，使建筑成为连接地域文脉与全球创新的空间载体。

The design is inspired by the distinctive architectural technique, mimicking the rhythmic layering of traditional wall construction and paying tribute to historic building logic through precisely cut and interwoven architectural volumes. The richly textured façade reinterprets the depth and pattern of brick and stone walls, resulting in an architectural space that serves as a bridge between regional heritage and global innovation.

东西地块在丰富的立面形式中展现出统一的设计语言。以东地块的主塔楼为例，其东西立面采用Low-E中空超白玻璃与横向金属板强化水平延展性，南北立面则以竖向金属格栅突显垂直线条的挺拔感，其中高区的酒店立面采用折线幕墙结合隐藏式开启扇的形似，从视觉上与下方办公区的标准化幕墙形成立面形象区分。而作为城市形象缩影的会议中心三层的主立面特别采用动态机械幕墙系统，由3000多块可转动“金砖”组成，凭借其机械运动系统和智能控制系统实现建筑的动态变化，打造项目亮点。“从隐藏式开启扇到动态幕墙，细节设计始终服务于功能与美学的共生，让建筑不仅存在于城市中，更成为人们难以忘怀的体验。” 温子先博士（Dr. Andy Wen）说道。

The design incorporates diverse façades to enhance both functionality and aesthetics. The main tower in the eastern plot utilises Low-E ultra-clear glass and horizontal metal panels for a sleek appearance, while vertical metal grilles emphasise its height. The conference centre’s third-floor façade showcases 3,000 rotating golden bricks, forming an innovative mechanical curtain wall. ‘With a thoughtful balance of architectural expression and interactive elements, the design ensures that the structure not only integrates seamlessly into the urban fabric but also becomes a memorable experience for visitors.’ Andy shares.

The headquarters is not only a symbol of BRICS cooperation but also a new urban living room within Xiamen. The design integrates local culture and natural elements to highlight high-end social functions and the spirit of international exchange and collaboration. ‘This building represents not just the vision of BRICS cooperation but also a commitment to sustainable urban development and the concept of shared prosperity. We hope it serves as a bridge between international and local communities, inspiring new possibilities’, Andy and Zihuan say.
