3 月 29 日，MVRDV 创始合伙人兼主创建筑师 Winy Maas 将向公众揭示这座世界上第一个面向公众开放的艺术仓库背后的设计流程和原则。世界各地的许多博物馆往往都只能展出其全部藏品中的一小部分，而 Depot 公共艺术仓库打破了传统博物馆的展陈方式，将全部馆藏都呈现在公众面前。Winy 将向听众们介绍 Depot 作为艺术仓库的独特开放性和包容性，以及设计师如何实现艺术品储存所需要的特定空间环境与建筑的能源平衡。

On 29 March, founding partner and principal architect Winy Maas will discuss the processes and principles behind the world's first fully accessible art depot. With many museums around the world exhibiting only a small percentage of their overall collections at any time, the depot broke with this tradition of having to conceal previously invisible works, making the Boijmans' entire catalogue available. Winy will explain how the depot's design is completely democratic, with any visitor being able to explore 99% of the building, and with a rooftop that is freely available not only to museum guests but the community at large, it delivered a new and inclusive space larger than the occupied footprint it inhabits. Despite the specific climate conditions and climate zones required to preserve the art works, Winy will also demonstrate how it was possible to make the depot energy-neutral with regard to building-related energy consumption.

MVRDV was set up in 1993 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands by Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries. MVRDV engages globally in providing solutions to contemporary architectural and urban issues. A research-based and highly collaborative design method engages experts from all fields, clients and stakeholders in the creative process. The results are exemplary and outspoken buildings, urban plans, studies and objects, which enable our cities and landscapes to develop towards a better future.

Early projects by the office, such as the headquarters for the Dutch Public Broadcaster VPRO and WoZoCo housing for the elderly in Amsterdam lead to international acclaim. 250 architects, designers and other staff develop projects in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative design process which involves rigorous technical and creative investigation. MVRDV works with BIM and has official in-house BREEAM and LEED assessors. Together with Delft University of Technology, MVRDV runs The Why Factory, an independent think tank and research institute providing an agenda for architecture and urbanism by envisioning the city of the future.
