适逢上海市与荷兰鹿特丹市缔结友城关系45周年、鹿特丹市市长艾哈迈德·阿布塔莱伯（Ahmed Aboutaleb）参访上海之际，7月6日，由市长和荷兰驻沪领事馆带领的访问团来到徐汇滨江，参观了由MVRDV建筑规划事务所参与改造设计的 Gate M 西岸梦中心项目，实地感受荷兰的创新设计在中国的实践成果。

Rotterdam Mayor Mr. Ahmed Aboutaleb visited Shanghai last week to mark the 45-year Anniversary of Shanghai and Rotterdam's Sister City Relationship. Together with the Rotterdam delegation co-led by the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Netherlands, Mr. Aboutaleb also visited the site of Gate M West Bund Dream Center on July 6th, an urban regeneration project by MVRDV at the bank of Huangpu River, to witness the positive results of innovative Dutch designers practicing in China.

Gate M 西岸梦中心（简称“梦中心”）由西岸集团和华之门资本联合开发，项目位于上海徐汇西岸片区龙腾大道沿岸，紧邻黄浦江，前身是昔日亚洲规模最大的水泥厂。项目共16.2万平方米，是全国城市更新的重点项目之一。2021年，MVRDV受邀参与梦中心的更新计划，进行整体规划概念和南部建筑群的改造，基于可持续的设计理念，对前工业区内不同风格和不同时期的建筑进行改造，意图为上海打造更具活力的滨水空间。预计将于2024年8月23日开始热场，未来将成为全球滨水文旅商业目的地。

The Gate M West Bund Dream Center (abbrev. the Dream Center) is jointly developed by the West Bund Group and HZM Capital. The project is located along Longteng Avenue in the West Bund area of Xuhui District, Shanghai, close to the Huangpu River. It used to be the largest cement factory in Asia. The project covers a total area of 162,000 square metres and is one of the key projects of urban renewal in China. In 2021, MVRDV was invited to participate in the renewal plan of the Dream Center by defining the overall re-planning concept and the transformation of the existing buildings of the southern part of the site. Based on the concept of sustainable design, MVRDV renovated the buildings of different styles and times in this former industrial area, to create a more dynamic waterfront for Shanghai. The Dream Center will welcome its soft opening from August 23, 2024, and will become a global waterfront destination for culture, tourism and business in the future.

MVRDV was founded in Rotterdam, the Netherlands by Dutch architects Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries.
