2023年12月28日，由gmp·冯·格康，玛格及合伙人建筑师事务所与中铁第四勘察设计院集团有限公司（简称“铁四院”）及上海联创设计有限公司合作设计的南昌东站正式落成通车。

On December 26, 2023, Nanchang East Railway Station, designed by gmp von Gerkan, Marg and Partners Architects (gmp) in cooperation with China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group Co., Ltd. (T4) and UDG, was completed and officially opened.

南昌东站位于南昌中心城区东侧边缘，站房建筑面积约十万平方米，站场总规模为 8 台 16 线（含正线）。站房造型由一系列动感十足的三连拱组合而成，设计灵感源自《滕王阁序》中的“落霞与孤鹜齐飞，秋水共长天一色 ”的诗句。

Nanchang East Railway Station is located on the eastern edge of Nanchang city center. The station building has an area of about 100,000 square meters and comprises eight platforms with sixteen tracks. The shape of the station building is composed as a series of continuous three-aisled arches, inspired by the poem of Teng Wang Ge Xu.

站房屋面采用单元标准构件，确保了施工的经济性和灵活性。车站从2022年1月开始建设到2023年底竣工，用了不到两年的时间。

Standardized components are used in the station's roof structure to ensure construction efficiency and flexibility. The completion of the station took less than two years from the start of construct ion in January 2022 to its opening at the end of 2023.

由于车站地处城市边缘，以单向客流为主，设计采用现代机场的 GTC（地面交通中心）模式，打造集中公交系统，实现大运量、高效率换乘。位于西侧主入口的“城市客厅”作为连接城市与站房的关键节点，配以旅客服务和商业功能，将丰富多彩的城市生活与便捷的交通换乘融合在一个三层高的通高中庭里，形成一个人流集散中心。

Due to its position on the outskirts of the city and the resulting predominance of one-way passenger flows, the GTC (Ground Traffic Center) model of modern airports was adopted for the station’s infrastructure to create a centralized public transport network for high-performance and efficient transfers. As a central hub connecting the city and the station building, the "Urban Living Room" at the western main entrance is equipped with passenger services and commercial areas, combining vibrant city life and convenient traffic transfer in a three-story atrium, serving as a pedestrian distribution center.

车站周边地区发展定位为“环鄱客厅，昌东门户”，车站所在片区采用 TOD（以公共交通为导向的开发）模式，将在周边打造高品质办公和公寓设施。

The development of the area surrounding the station is defined as "the living room around the Poyang Lake, the gateway to Nanchang East". A new area is being developed in accordance with the TOD (Transport-Oriented Development) principles and will feature high-quality office and residential space among other facilities.

与南昌东站同时开通的还有南昌至景德镇至黄山铁路（简称“昌景黄铁路”）整条线路。“昌景黄铁路”在南昌枢纽衔接沪昆、京九高速铁路。作为“昌景黄铁路”的起始站，南昌东站的建成对中国高铁线路的完善有着重要意义。

With the opening of Nanchang East Railway Station, the entire line from Nanchang to Jingdezhen (known as the “Porcelain Capital” of China) to Huangshan Railway (referred to as the "Chang Jing Huang Railway") is opened. At the Nanchang junction, Chang Jing Huang Railway connects the Shanghai-Kunming and Beijing-Kowloon high-speed lines. As the starting station of Chang Jing Huang Railway, the completion of Nanchang East Railway Station is of great significance to the improvement of China's high-speed railway lines.
