2023年10月20日上午，由宝山区人民政府、上海实业（集团）有限公司与上海大学主办的吴淞创新城上实集团首批（重大）项目启动暨上大美院”蝶变·图强“计划全球创作征集活动正式启动。活动中，上实集团介绍参与吴淞创新城的建设情况并启动了首批（重大）项目。

gmp·冯·格康，玛格及合伙人建筑师事务所合伙人兼执行总裁吴蔚先生在活动中展示了首批（重点）项目之一的上海美术学院宝武校区设计方案，根据“保留历史塑造未来”的设计思路，新的美院主校区将在宝武型钢厂的工业遗存上建设一座长约一公里、总面积达22万平方米的新型美术学院，它没有围墙，与城市无缝衔接，提升城市能级和城市品质。

According to the design idea of "preserving history and shaping the future", the new campus will be built on the industrial remains of Baowu type steel factory for a length of about one kilometer and with a total area of 220,000 square meters.
