Twelve sculptures from the series “sunrise. east.” by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone moved into the Städel garden in late June. They stand between the skylights, arranged in a circle around the mound, and each one gazes at the public with its own unique facial expression. If you stand on the hill in the Städel Garden, you have an overview of all twelve masks. They are set up like clockwork without hands, an oversized sundial.

艺术家乌戈•罗迪纳（Ugo Rondinone）在采访中提到，"日出·东方"系列的12个雕塑作品，创作于2003年至2005年的夏季，每个作品都以一年中月份的日出命名，从一月到十二月共计12个雕塑。每个雕塑约2米高，主要以粘土为主要材料并加以改进，表面使用闪亮的银色铝质铸造而成。

Ugo Rondinone mentioned in an interview that the series "sunrise.east" consists of 12 sculptures, created during the summer months of 2003-2005, each named after a sunrise in a particular month of the year, from January to December. Each sculpture is approximately two-metre-high and is made of clay as the main material, which is modified and finally cast in shiny silver aluminum.
