捷报！MVRDV 中标武汉图书馆新馆建筑方案国际竞赛-建筑档案

MVRDV联合浙江大学建筑设计研究院有限公司，成功中标武汉图书馆新馆建筑方案国际征集。并将以该方案为基础开展下一步方案整合与深化。

MVRDV, in collaboration with UAD, was announced Winner in the International Design Competition of for The New Wuhan Library, and will work together to further develope the design based on the concept proposal.

武汉图书馆新馆选址位于武汉王家墩中央商务区核心地段，常青路与云彩路交汇处。规划用地面积约4.33公顷（约65亩），总建筑面积约为13.64万平方米。项目周边文化、景观、环境资源丰富。紧邻武汉博物馆、泛海城市广场等公共服务设施，交通便捷。建成后的武汉图书馆新馆将成为集资源保障中心、知识交流中心、创新体验中心、文化娱乐中心为一体的综合型图书馆，更好地服务武汉的城市经济、社会和文化发展。

The New Wuhan Library is located at the center of Wuhan Wangjiadun Central Business District, at the intersection of Changqing Road and Yuncai Road. The planned land area is about 4.33 hectares (about 65 mu), and the total floor area is about 136,400 square meters. The project is surrounded by abundant cultural, scenic and environmental resources, adjacent to a group pf public facilities including Wuhan Museum, Oceanwide City Square, etc., and is highly accessible with convienient transportation systems. The New Wuhan Library will be a hyrid library that combines resource center, knowledge exchange center, innovation experience center and cultural entertainment center, to better serve the development of Wuhan's economy, society and culture.

MVRDV was set up in 1993 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands by Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries. MVRDV engages globally in providing solutions to contemporary architectural and urban issues. A research-based and highly collaborative design method engages experts from all fields, clients and stakeholders in the creative process. The results are exemplary and outspoken buildings, urban plans, studies and objects, which enable our cities and landscapes to develop towards a better future.

Early projects by the office, such as the headquarters for the Dutch Public Broadcaster VPRO and WoZoCo housing for the elderly in Amsterdam lead to international acclaim. 250 architects, designers and other staff develop projects in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative design process which involves rigorous technical and creative investigation. MVRDV works with BIM and has official in-house BREEAM and LEED assessors. Together with Delft University of Technology, MVRDV runs The Why Factory, an independent think tank and research institute providing an agenda for architecture and urbanism by envisioning the city of the future.
